Nearly half of salary earners struggle by payday

JOHANNESBURG – As payday approaches, nearly half of salary earners are in a tough spot, with almost 50-percent left with less than R1,000, or facing negative balances.
That’s according to Standard Bank’s latest statistics.

They reveal that 21-percent have R1,000 or less left, while 28-percent are in overdraft.
This continues to highlight the financial strain many are grappling with each month.
Standard Bank Head of Personal and Private Banking, Kabelo Makeke discussed this with eNCA.
